It seemed for a considerable period of time that nationalism had become obsolete as a political and identity-establishing factor. In recent years, however, nationalism has been undergoing a renaissance & with potentially fatal consequences. Not least in view of the political and social relevance of the topic, a well-founded expert analysis of nationalism has become obligatory for everyone interested in politics, as well as for students of politics and history. Rolf-Ulrich Kunze presents a systematic consideration of the theoretical concepts involved in nationalism. He illustrates its dangerous capacity for transformation and explains how nationalisms combine with other ideologies in such a way that they can be instrumentalized and misused.
