Design & Philosophie - Schnittstellen und Wahlverwandtschaften

In what respects can philosophy, with its clarifying methodology and thematic approaches make a contribution to the theoretical elucidation of design? What points of intersection exist between these two disciplines? And what kind of momentum can be gained for both sides from their thematic interconnections? For the first time in the German-speaking research context, this volume thematically unites the fields of design and philosophy. The contributors grapple primarily with art-theoretical, moral and socio-ethical interrogations, and formulate possible approaches toward a critique of design.

Julia-Constance Dissel (Dr. phil.), geb. 1981, promovierte 2011 in Philosophie an der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main. Sie forschte und lehrte an unterschiedlichen Einrichtungen, u.a. am Max-Planck-Institut für europäische Rechtsgeschichte, der Universität Oxford und der Kunsthochschule Freiburg. Sie lehrt an der Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und im Fachbereich Gestaltung sowie an der Universität in Konstanz im Fachbereich Philosophie. Seit 2011 gibt sie CRITICA-ZPK, eine Zeitschrift für Philosophie und Kunsttheorie, heraus.
