Is it rational to believe in God or other supernatural powers? Are there good epistemic reasons for holding religious convictions? In searching for an answer to one of religion’s most important philosophical questions, the author undertakes a systematic study of the main positions and arguments that have been offered so far. His conclusion? An honest review of the evidence does not speak for the existence of God; quite the contrary. The world’s suffering offers a conclusive argument against it.
