It highlights the structures and trends and clarifies their relevance to conflict resolution. Keywords are: the scope of labor and employment law and its constitutional framework, its specific legal foundations (e.g. case law and the principles of equal treatment) and means of regulation (e.g. customs and practices of the employer and a general undertaking by the employer), and modifications of the common German civil law as well as the specialized legal institutions of collective employment law.
