The work describes the following topics close to practice: effects of drugs, consequences of chronic consumption, abuse and addiction (biological, psychological, social factors), responsibilities and equipment of facilities for addiction relief. All the professional courses of intervention, treatment methods for secondary afflictions and problematic groups are presented. Finally examples and special questions on treatment including those of cost-benefit, drug policy and education are given.
