This is the first systematic and comprehensive German-language overview of key theoretical approaches to foreign policy decision-making. It presents eleven theories of foreign policy research in three sections: the first section addresses the grand theories of international relations; the second examines domestic exigencies affecting foreign policy decisions; and the third addresses cognitive and psychological factors influencing decision-makers.
