Cone Beam CT in Dentistry - An Atlas for Dentists and Medical Radiologists

This superbly illustrated book gives a comprehensive introduction to CBCT and its use for diagnosis of dental conditions and treatment planning in the dental practice. After an introductory chapter on the basics of CBCT scans, detailed description is provided on dental anatomic structures and their appearance on CBCT. Various common dental diseases are shown and discussed, as well as signs of malignancy. The book will arm the reader with fundamental knowledge of the radiological appearance of dento-alveolar anatomy and provide guidance on the interpretation of artefacts, disease and some well-known anatomical variations. While it is intended primarily for dentists, this book will be of high value for multiple other health care professionals including medical radiologists.

Suk Yee Ng, PhD, is Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at the Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London. She gained her BDS and PhD   at the University of Manchester in 1994 and her Diploma in Dental Radiology from the Royal College of Radiologists in 1998. Suk Ng has developed a new university degree programme called 'Dental Cone Beam CT Radiological Interpretation' at King's College London. Since December 2015, she has organized and delivered more than 20 CBCT hands-on training courses. In 2017, Suk Ng became the president of the British Society of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology.
